About Our Mental Health Counselling in Leeds
Sessions are available both in-person and online. If you find co-ordinating your schedules and obligations challenging or you do not live close by, online therapy offers convenience and flexibility from your own home(s).
Alternatively, I offer a comfortable environment within my home where you may feel you can leave your feelings and struggles for me to ‘hold’ until our next session.
Sessions can look at your physical and mental symptoms, e.g., those of anxiety, depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder. I would always sign-post to your GP who should be kept aware of your health. We can explore when you identified your symptoms and what you see as their causes. We can look at how they have affected you over time using a timeline and identify what might improve them or exacerbate them, in your view.

Why Insight? The Process and the Sessions:
I recognise that it may not be just one issue but an accumulation of events and relationships that are interacting, maybe in a way that they haven’t before. Perhaps there was a build up of stress before you realised you would like to investigate getting some support?
You may have concerns about your health or that of someone else? provides a safe and confidential space to discuss feelings and emotions with a trained professional.
I can help individuals gain a better understanding of their thoughts and feelings, and develop coping strategies for various mental health challenges in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
No one discloses everything in their first mental health counselling session! There wouldn’t be time!
We will work at your pace as our therapeutic relationship grows. Often, as sessions move on, clients identify issues they hadn’t, initially.
-
Clients vary quite widely in their presenting issues. They may stem from work.
Clients may be undergoing accusations or investigations in the work place or find themselves unable to cope with ever-increasing work load and diminishing resources. Colleague relationships may be challenging or perhaps management unsupportive.
Family relationships can also be very complex. Care of the young and the elderly may be a factor such as children with additional needs or relatives with dementia. Blended families, step children and ex-partners can be complicated. Sibling relationships, even in adulthood, often present in sessions. Adoptive families and adults who were adopted as children often need support at the time of the process or later in life

If you need to cancel, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice as I would then be able to offer the session to another client. See our T&C’s here

If you find your obligations and responsibilities quite changeable, there is no need to have mental health counselling sessions at the same time and day, or even every week. We can work around your life style and commitments.
